Our plastic surgeons are actively involved community and volunteer work both in Australia and abroad.
Dr Frank Lin is an active volunteer surgeon with Interplast Australia and New Zealand, and has previously travelled to the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu in the wake of Cyclone Pam in 2015 to undertake volunteer work. His work was recognized in Interplast publications in 2015 and 2016.

Dr Tam Quinn traveled to Mongolia with Interplast in a career-defining trip, fulfilling her ambition to provide medical support in resource-poor settings. She worked alongside local health professionals sharing expertise and visited the Mongolian National University School of Medical Sciences, where she witnessed an MOU signing, delivered a talk on plastic surgery and burns, and toured their simulation centre.
Beyond professional work, Dr Tam immersed herself in Mongolia’s rich culture and breathtaking landscapes. A memorable highlight was experiencing traditional Mongolian hospitality in a teammate’s family ger, followed by a stunning sunset over the steppes. The journey perfectly blended meaningful medical collaboration with unforgettable cultural connections.

Dr Frank Lin's Humanitarian Work with Interplast
Dr Frank Lin extends his surgical expertise through volunteer work with Interplast, travelling to underserved Asia Pacific communities. In Vanuatu, he performed life-changing reconstructive surgery on four-year-old Frank, whose severe burns had left him unable to use his hand. Through careful intervention, Dr Lin restored function to the child’s hand, enabling him to hold objects and play normally. This meaningful work demonstrates our commitment to using surgical skills where they’re needed most.
