Vampire facelift (PRP)

A vampire facelift is a popular, celebrity-favourite non-surgical treatment that uses your body’s own natural healing powers – platelet-rich plasma (PRP) –  for a refreshed, firmer and more youthful appearance. At London Real Skin in Holborn, our vampire facelift is dermatology-led and performed by our qualified experienced doctors.

What is a vampire facelift?

A vampire facelift involves withdrawing a small amount of your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets from the red and white blood cells, then re-injecting the platelet-rich plasma into targeted areas of the face to produce brighter, smoother skin. Platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors that help heal injured tissue and damaged skin, allowing the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself. It’s a non-surgical treatment that relies on your body’s own natural healing powers.

The key difference is how PRP is delivered: a vampire facelift involves injecting PRP into targeted areas, while a vampire facial combines PRP with microneedling to apply it across the skin’s surface.

— The Difference

Vampire facelift vs vampire facial: what’s the difference?

The two terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference. A vampire facelift uses PRP injected into targeted areas of the face to plump, firm and rejuvenate. A vampire facial combines PRP with microneedling, so the plasma is applied across the skin’s surface through microchannels. At London Real Skin we offer both. Our practitioner will advise which is best for your skin and goals at your consultation

Why Choose London Real Skin for Microneedling?

At London Real Skin, microneedling is not treated as a standard facial or delivered at the same depth for every client. Our experienced practitioners assess the thickness, sensitivity and overall condition of your skin before adapting the XCellaris Pro Twist settings, supporting products and treatment course to your individual concerns.

Our philosophy is straightforward: healthy skin creates beautiful skin. Rather than pursuing overly aggressive treatments, we focus on improving skin function, supporting natural regeneration and strengthening the skin over time. An approach that produces results that look refreshed and natural rather than overtreated.

— Questions

Vampire facelift FAQ

The questions we are asked most often about the treatment, the course and what recovery actually looks like.

A vampire facelift (PRP Face) starts from £450, or £1,283 for a recommended course of three. A vampire facial (PRP with microneedling) is £650, or £1,853 for a course of three.

A vampire facelift injects PRP into targeted areas; a vampire facial applies PRP with microneedling microneedling across the skin’s surface. We offer both and will advise which suits you.

Results are typically noticeable for up to 18 months after a course of three sessions spaced four weeks apart.

Your aesthetic nurse assesses your skin, takes ‘before’ photos and explains the plan. Your skin is cleansed, a small amount of blood is drawn and centrifuged, and the activated platelets are injected into targeted areas. Start to finish takes about 30 minutes.

Avoid sun and makeup for a few hours, moisturise, drink plenty of water, avoid hot water for 12–24 hours, and ice on and off to reduce any swelling.

It’s not suitable for those with certain blood or platelet disorders, active facial infections or cold sores, or those pregnant or breastfeeding, among others. Our practitioner will advise at consultation.
