— About

What is a laser skin resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing is one of the most advanced treatments today that safely and effectively rejuvenates the skin, targeting fine lines and wrinkles, evening out skin tone, improving skin texture and reducing pigmentation. It also successfully reduces pore size and treats acne scarring.

The treatment works by the Ipixel laser producing energy in the mid infrared invisible light spectrum which is used to precisely target the area, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. This creates a controlled thermal injury that leads to the remodelling of collagen and improved skin texture.

Areas that can be treated include the face, neck, chest, hands and arms.

— Questions

Laser skin resurfacing FAQ

The questions we are asked most often about the treatment, the course and what recovery actually looks like.

One of our aesthetic practitioners will carry out an in depth skin analysis to examine the deeper layers of your skin with the use of the advanced Observ 520 skin analysis technology. The practitioner will determine if you are suitable for this procedure, and if so, photographs will be taken before the procedure, to monitor your progress., following your signed consent. You will be able to ask any questions you may have, and a bespoke skincare regime will be provided to suit your skin needs.

We also offer a complimentary Observ 520 Skin Analysis in all of our bespoke skin consultations. This modern technology is safe, proven and effective and provides our patients with a visual understanding of the deeper layers of their skin.

Many skin conditions start deep under the surface and this makes them difficult to assess with the human eye. This is why we use the Observ at the start of your journey with us and throughout your treatment course to monitor the progress of your skin.

We are committed to utilising the industry’s leading technology to reveal and target skin conditions before you can even see them.

The skin will be cleansed with an antiseptic solution prior to treatment. A topical aesthetic will be applied onto the skin and left on for about 20 minutes for comfort. The aesthetic practitioner will remove the anaesthetic, re-cleanse the skin and commence with treatment.

Immediately after, the skin will feel hot and appear red. Your aesthetic practitioner will give you aftercare instructions to follow and may apply ointment to soothe the area. Patients can appreciate dramatic results once the skin has completely healed.

Photographs will be taken after the procedure, as this allows the aesthetic practitioner to compare the results. Improvement of the skin can be seen after 1 session although we recommend a course of 3 treatments, with one treatment being carried out every 4 to 6 weeks for optimal results.

The downtime can last from 5 to 14 days depending on the laser setting chosen. Patients can expect a sunburn -like sensation after treatment, and the skin may feel tight, dry or slightly itchy.

Your aesthetic practitioner will give you some aftercare instructions to follow to support you with the healing process.
