Dr Paul Morrison has over twenty-five years’ experience in clinical psychiatry. He studied pharmacology and neuroscience in Glasgow and in Chicago. He completed a PhD in psychopharmacology at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, where he is now an honorary senior clinical lecturer. Paul has conducted numerous research studies involving cannabinoids, ketamine, empathogens and psychedelics. He has published in international journals, given lectures at scientific meetings worldwide, and contributed to CNS pharmacology topics in the wider media. He is the lead author on the influential textbook, The Maudsley Guidelines on Advanced Prescribing in Psychosis.
Paul is now a consultant NHS psychiatrist in Argyll, Scotland, having previously been a consultant at The Maudsley hospital in South London. He is also a principal investigator at Clerkenwell Health in London conducting trials of novel treatments, including psychedelics, in treatment resistant mood disorders and PTSD.
